According to WiMAX.com Industry News, Rohde & Schwarz have devleoped a “single-box” device to test the performance of WiMAX and WiMAX-related components at the upcoming WiMAX World USA event. The device, known as the R&S CMW270, will be able to test everything from signal strength to transmission rates in a variety of settings. The R&S CMW270 will provide a convenient way to make at least a partial reply to the criticism that WiMAX is a largely experimental and untested technology.

The fourth annual WiMAX World USA event is scheduled for September 25th to September 27th, 2007 and is located in Chicago, IL. The conference will cover recent WiMAX news and trends and will include “over 100 speakers, 60+ exhibitors and many special networking events.” For a detailed conference schedule and further information, see the WiMAX World website.
