The 4G Wireless Evolution Conference kicked off January 20 in Miami Beach Convention Center and will run through January 22.

The promise of 4G, the next generation of mobile broadband technology, offers huge potential to wireless carriers, network equipment makers, applications developers and wireless consumers. It will examine alternative next generation technologies and 4G applications.

This year’s keynote speakers include Danny Windam, CEO of Digium, Jeffrey Rodman, Co-Founder of Polycom, Christopther Dean, CEO of Skype, Jeremy Wadmans, Senior IT Architect, David Erickson, Founder and CEO of Free Conferencing Corp. and Brian Higgins, Executive Director of Ecosystem Development for Verizon.

Attendees will learn how the concept of open mobile internet can be regulated and how it will impact stakeholders. The hottest mobile trends, accommodating users growing mobility requirements, and applications for both the consumer and business customers will all be major topics addressed. Alternative 4G delivery technologies including dual mode phones, WiFi, and femtocells will be displayed. Seminars will showcase Mobile Money, how to monetize 4G, and the Future of Mobile Video. Attendees will be able to participate through the panel discussions featuring different viewpoints.

Many different exhibitors, including Redline Communications and Sprint will showcase 4G technologies ideas and networking opportunities to meet with Sprint team members. Towerstream’s CEO Jeff Thompson opened the conference with an industry perspective, focusing on deployment of 4G technology.
