Barry West joins Clearwire as president of international. Prior to joining Clearwire, Mr. West was president of the Xohm Business Unit for Sprint Nextel. He previously served as Sprint Nextel’s chief technology officer and president of 4G mobile broadband, as well as executive vice president and chief technology officer for Nextel Communications Inc.

Mr. West joined Nextel in 1996 and was the chief architect in creating the iDEN wireless technology platform with partner Motorola. Prior to joining Nextel, Mr. West led many successful engineering and marketing initiatives during more than 35 years for British Telecom including overseeing the rollout of a GSM digital cellular network that covered more than 90 percent of the United Kingdom population in only nine months. Prior to joining Comcast in 2007, Mr. Angelakis served as Managing Director and as a member of the Management and Investment Committees of Providence Equity Partners, one of the leading private equity firms investing in communications and media companies around the world.  Before joining Providence Equity Partners in 1999, Mr. Angelakis was President and Chief Executive Officer of State Cable TV Corporation and Aurora Telecommunications, LLC.  He also served as Vice President at Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company in New York, where he oversaw one of the bank’s media and communications portfolios.  Additionally, Mr. Angelakis spent several years in London developing Manufacturers Hanover’s acquisition finance and merchant banking activities throughout Western Europe.  In 2009, Mr. Angelakis was named among America’s Best CFOs by Institutional Investor magazine for the second consecutive year.

john-dupreeJohn Dupree currently directs all Sprint strategic and national account activities across the United States, including the company’s largest corporate customers as well as its substantial business with the U. S. Government.  His accounts generate $7B in annual revenues for the company. He has been at Sprint for over ten years; prior to his current role he served as Vice President, Systems Integrator Sales where he developed a new sales channel specifically devoted to the nation’s largest integrators and outsourcers. Previously Dupree has held officer level sales positions with Sprint in both Enterprise as well as the Wholesale/Carrier group. Dupree also served as Vice President of Marketing for Sprint Business.

Mr. Dupree’s career includes extensive telecommunications and technology experience.  Prior to joining Sprint in 1998, he served as Vice President of Sales for Murata Business Systems, a leading international manufacturer of facsimile machines and other telephony equipment. He is a frequent speaker on telecommunications issues, marketing and customer relationship management (CRM).

Active in international affairs, Mr. Dupree is a former Executive Director of the Society of International Business Fellows, a professional association of senior executives focused on global business issues. He is a member of the Dallas Committee on Foreign Relations and has served two terms on the Board of Directors of the Greater Dallas Chamber of Commerce and currently chairs the Chamber’s Technology Business Council. He also is the Executive Sponsor for Sprint’s Corporate Social Responsibility Council in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.

Dupree is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and Oxford University in England where he studied as a Rhodes Scholar.  He also has a graduate degree in International Affairs from The Fletcher School at Tufts University.  He is active in the Dallas community where he resides with his wife Regina.
