Clear will be holding launch parties in Austin, TX, Greensboro, Raleigh, and Charlotte, NC this weekend to celebrate the launch of Clear. The first party is December 9 at the Arboretum Courtyard in Austin from 4 p.m. till 8 p.m. CST. Clear is expected to hand out prizes and there’s scheduled appearances from Austin-area’s numerous attractions.
The event in Charlotte will take place on December 10 at the Atrium at Two Wachovia Center from 11 a.m. till 3 p.m. There will be prizes handed out and demonstrations of Clear and many other fun events for people of all ages. The event in Raleigh will take place on December 11 from 3-7 p.m. at the Streets at Southpoint. The Greensboro event concludes Clear’s launch weekend from 11 a.m. till 3 p.m. at the Shops at Friendly Center. Clear now offers service in nine major markets including Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Chicago and Atlanta.
Raleigh, Austin, Charlotte and Greensboro join Maui and Honolulu, Hawaii as networks that were launched in December 2009. Clear expects to add more networks in 2010. Recent reports have WiMax use growing to almost 2 million users by the end of 2009. Clear has stated it has 173,000 subscribers.
