Globe Telecom will set aside $500 million for capital projects in 2010. A large portion will go towards its broadband business, including setting up more WiMAX networks in the Philippines. $230 million will be used to expand and augment its DSL, WiMAX and 3G Internet services.
Globe networks reached 99 percent of the population in the Philippines. Globe’s net income of PHP 12.6 billion, was up 11 percent. Fixed and broadband operations decreased from 15 percent to 12 percent.
