In addition to providing their students with a top-of-the-line education, Northern Michigan University will now offer them a new WiMax network come this semester.
NMU’s WiMax network replaces its Wi-Fi network. It is accessible by students and staff who live off campus in the surrounding rural area. Some governmental entities will be able to access the network also. NMU’s WiMax is also mobile enabling network access from passing vehicles.
