Redline Laying Off Part of Workforce

Redline Communications recently announced its cutting 10 percent of its workforce due to lack of revenue. The Canadian company didn’t provide an exact number. Redline had around 200 employees at the end of 2008. Redline had previously advised investors that it expected 2009 revenue would be about the same as 2008. Friday, they expected 2009 revenue will fall about 12 per cent. The company estimates 2009 revenue will be about $38 million, down from $43.5 million in 2008.
Redline Communications is the leading supplier of WiMax equipments and backhaul solutions. In 2009, it became the first to have its complete WiMax system certified by the WiMax Forum. The company was also the first to market an 802.16 compliant product. Redline has done over 50,000 installations in 80 countries of WiMax networks.
