Sprint Will Showcase Supersonic at CTIA Wireless 2010

A Wall Street Journal Report announced that Sprint will showcase the first WiMAX phone, the Supersonic from HTC. It be seen for the first time at CTIA Wireless 2010 next week in Las Vegas. It’s been a long rumored device that is suppose to ship by this summer. It’s believed to run on Google’s Android operating system with HTC UI and similar in size to the HD2.

It was rumored when Sprint’s lineup was leaked in January that a WiMAX smart phone was in the works for 2010.

It’s a bold move by Sprint, getting out the first 4G phone. They were the first major carrier to offer WiMAX services in the U.S. Sprint owns a majority stake in Clearwire, the builder of the WiMAX networks in the U.S. Clearwire offers its own service, titled Clear.
