The Evo View 4G Tablet is set to launch on June 24th according to a Sprint representative. This will be the first unlimited WiMax enabled tablet sold in the U.S. It features a 7-inch screen with 1024 x 600 resolution, a 5 megapixel camera, a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera that is perfect for video calling and 32 GB of internal storage with the ability to store movies, photos and applications. Data plans start at 1 GB for $20, 3 GB for $45, 5GB for $60, 10GB for $90. The Evo View will be sold for $400 with a two year contract.
The tablet comes with many cool features such as Scribe technology which allows users to write notes with their own handwriting. The pen is sold separately for $80. The Timemark feature gives users the ability to capture audio while writing notes.
The Evo View 4G will use the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system but will later be updated to Android 3.0 Honeycomb. The Evo View can also be used as a mobile hotspot that can support up to eight Wi-Fi enabled devices.
The new unlimited WiMax data option is very similar to the data plans that Sprint already has for their EV-DO/WiMax hotspots and USB modems. The unlimited option will hopefully make the Evo View 4G and future WiMax tablets even more attractive to consumers.
The HTC Evo View can be pre-ordered as early as June 21st.
