WiMax launched in Trinidad and Tobago

Flag-of-Trinidad-and-TobagoTelecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago announced it has launched a WiMax network Trinidad and Tobago. This comes ahead of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting next week.

“It contributes to making Trinidad and Tobago a more desirable place for investors and ensures local businesses, regardless of the size, have access to communications tools that give them the competitive edge,” Said TSTT CEO Jay Alvi

The company invested $100 million USD in the project already, initially offering WiMax in the Port of Spain. It expected to launch the network in other parts of the country in January 2010.
